Q: Do you hire subcontractors?
A: All deck, landscape and carpentry work is done by Colorado Deck employees. We use subcontractors only for electric, gas and plumbing applications. We supervise our subs and take responsibility for their work, as your contractor. Our subs are required to be licensed and insured. Our subs have worked with us for over 10 years.
Q: How long will the construction take?
A: Of course there are many factors here. The size and complication of the job, access, weather etc.
Your salesperson will be able to give you a better idea after the design is done.
Q: Do you need a permit? Who’s responsible to get it and how much does it cost?
A: Typical decks off the ground 30″ or more need a permit, although some municipalities require a general permit for any deck. Your Colorado Deck salesperson will take care of permitting. Permit fees are based on the cost of the deck and each municipality determines their fees. You can call yours to request a permit estimate.
Q: Do I need to wait for Spring to build a deck?
A: No, Colorado Deck is out there year round installing beautiful decks. We sometimes run specials in the winter months. Build in the winter and enjoy your deck in the Spring.
Q: Does Colorado Deck offer a warranty?
A: Yes! Colorado Deck, Landscape and Remodeling warrantees all our work labor and materials for 5 years. Trees have an unprecedented 2 year warranty. Most of the decking materials we use to have a 25 year transferrable warranty.
Q: How much does a deck cost?
A: There is no simple answer here. There are so many variables; demolition, materials, type of railing, how much if any, stairs (how many, how wide), benches, lighting, stone pillars, landscape work, access to yard etc. Our sales/design person will assist you. A budget is very important here. How much do you want to spend? Like buying a car you don’t look in the used car lot if you want a new Cadillac. Average is about $55 per square foot and up.
